    Welcome to poly grad
What are English as a Second Language (ESL) courses?

Students taking the TOEFL exam whose score is below 550/213CBT may elect to enroll in the English as a Second Language (ESL) program to improve their English skills. If the TOEFL score is between 490-550 or 163-213(CBT), the students are eligible to take ESL intensive courses at NYU-Poly while taking a maximum of 2 graduate courses per semester. The benefit of NYU-Poly's ESL program is that it allows students to enroll in graduate courses and take the ESL class at the same time. Otherwise, the students would have to take the ESL program somewhere else, complete it, and then enroll in classes at Polytechnic Institute of NYU in a subsequent semester.
