According to USA Today, holders of advanced degrees 1) command the highest paying jobs, (44% of all jobs over $75,000 annually); make up the greatest share of persons who hold leadership positions in education, government, industry, and the non-profit sector; and 3) enjoy greater freedom to choose where and for whom they work. In addition, the Census Bureau has concluded that those with a bachelor's degree can expect to earn about $1.8 million over a lifetime, while those holding master's or Ph.D./professional degrees earn even more-about $2.2 million and $3.5 million, respectively. Many students look back fondly on their grad school experience as a time of personal growth and enrichment. In their careers, they appreciate the respect that comes with a graduate degree. They enjoy the freedom that comes from being able to apply knowledge to the multi-facets of their lives including charitable and community work. So not only are advanced degrees excellent investments, they add an extra dimension to the lives of the recipients and to the world at large. « Prev | Next »
