Special Presentation on Innovation in Financial Services and InfoSession on the MOTIFS Track within Polytechnic’s Executive Master’s MOT Program

Thursday, July 24, 2008, Polytechnic Univ., 55 Broad Street, Suite 13C, 6 PM

Special Presentation:

"Emerging Dimensions of Innovation in Financial Services"
by Professor Mel Horwitch.
Chair, Department of Management and Director, Institute for Technology and Enterprise, Polytechnic Institute of NYU, New York City

This talk deals with emerging dimensions of innovation in financial services, including the impact of new technologies and methodologies, the configuration of modern financial services strategies and firms, and the concurrent deployment of locally focused and targeted innovation efforts and increasingly global and broadly integrative innovation initiatives in financial services. The talk concludes by placing value creation in financial services within the overall context of modern innovation and with a delineation of the resulting educational imperatives relevant for managers and other professionals in financial services.

InfoSession on the MOTIFS Track within Polytechnic’s Executive Master’s MOT Program

This InfoSession focuses on our highly successful Management of Innovation and Technology in Financial Services [MOTIFS] Track within our flagship Executive Master’s Program on Management of Technology [MOT].

MOTIFS is designed for experienced financial services managers and other professionals who aim to make a difference by creating new or improved value for firms and customers.

MOTIFS is purposefully different than a standard MBA. MOTIFS explicitly deals with the core of modern competitiveness in financial services—innovation. MOTIFS examines how financial services managers and other professionals leverage and integrate technology with important managerial and market factors. MOTIFS assumes a broad view of financial services innovation, encompassing new products and services, new business and operating models, new ways to reach customers (locally and globally), improved financial services organizations, new and transformed exchanges, emerging payment methods, modern financial strategy, financial services cyber-security, etc.

Armed with such knowledge, MOTIFS Participants learn how to marshal disparate variables so financial services enterprises innovate continuously. MOTIFS graduates become core innovators within a firm. Thus, at a time of rampant and increasing outsourcing of pure technology, MOTIFS graduates remain enduringly valuable.

MOTIFS is also efficient. Participants enter in September and finish by December of the following year. Participants meet every other week, on Wednesday evening and all day Saturday. We offer MOTIFS classes at 55 Broad St in Manhattan’s Financial District and in Hawthorne, NY at our Westchester campus.
