The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), administered by the Educational Testing Service, is normally required of all international applicants who have earned a bachelor's degree from an institution in a non-English speaking country and/or speak English as a second language.
The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required for all MS applicants for Financial Engineering, all PhD applicants, and all international applicants. You may submit Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) scores instead of GRE scores for the MS application to the Management and Financial Engineering
programs. It is strongly recommended to submit GRE scores when applying for
graduate assistantships or research fellowships. GRE/GMAT scores are valid for five years from the test date. Submit your official scores to Graduate Admissions directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS). The Polytechnic Institute of NYU code is 2668. U.S. applicants only require GRE scores if they are applying for the M.S. in Financial Engineering or any Ph.D. program.
