Polytechnic's technology-oriented relationship with business, industry and
international development defines faculty research, guides curricular reform
and shapes the University's entrepreneurial ventures from research to
business incubation. It also provides for opportunities to share research
resources, cut business research costs, and
increase efficiencies.
Fostering such opportunities is the central purpose of Polytechnic's Othmer
Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies. The Institute provides seed money
for high-risk, high-payoff technological research and nurtures a
University-wide environment of exploratory learning and team building. In
addition, the Department of Technology Management has also created an Institute for
Technology and Enterprise, which conducts advanced research and curriculum
development and sponsors targeted workshops and roundtables.

Didi Dione, founder of Dione systems at B.E.S.T. Poly, speaks about having a business presence at Polytech on vPoly.
