AACE International Competitive Scholarship

This award is based on your academic performance, extracurricular activities, and an essay.
Applicants must:

• Be full- time undergraduate and graduate students who will be enrolled in the next academic year (fall term) in a degree program related to cost management/ cost engineering
• Be attending an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada

Catherine B. Reynolds Foundation Program in Social Entrepreneurship

Each year, the NYU Reynolds Program in Social Entrepreneurship awards up to 10 Graduate Fellowships in Social Entrepreneurship to students from across 11 NYU schools. Successful applicants will receive up to $25,000 for each of two years of study, and participate in an intensive two-year curricular and co-curricular component designed to help prepare them to be the next generation of social entrepreneurial leaders. Participating institutions will choose 15 candidates as semifinalists and submits these applications to the Reynolds Internal Selection Committee. The committee will then narrow down the application through interviews and a selection process; finally, 10 candidates will be selected.

Government of Iraq Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (GOI MoHESR) Programs

The Government of Iraq's Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (GOI MoHESR) recently announced a new program, the Iraqi Scholarship Scheme/ Future Capacity Building Program to fund 10,000 scholarships for master's and doctorate studies at universities abroad.  Scholarships will include funding for up to 12 months of intensive English language study at an overseas university, plus two years for a master's and 3 to 5 years for a doctorate degree inclduing tuition and fees, books, health insurance, a monthly stipedn for students and accompanying family members, and travel to the USA.  Scholarships will be available in all fields of study, but each public univerisity will determine the most critical fields of study for that province.

Higher Commitee for Education Development (HCED) In Iraq

The HCED Scholarship program started in 2009 with funding from the Government of Iraq through the Prime Minister’s Office.  HCED has secured 950 admissions for students. There are currently 652 students in the United States and 267 in the UK, with small numbers in Australia, Netherlands, and France. The first group will graduate from the USA in 2013. HCED awarded 1000 scholarships to Iraqi students for master’s and doctorate studies in December 2011.

Students receive full scholarship funding for up to one year of intensive English language study, plus two years for a master’s program and five years for a doctorate program including tuition, books, travel, and any other related fees. Students will receive a monthly stipend of $1,950, plus 50% of that amount for the spouse. Health insurance is provided for the student and family. 

All students sign a contract obligating them to pay back the money spent on the scholarship package if the student does not return to Iraq. HCED must find a suitable job in Iraq for the student within one year of completing the degree and returning to Iraq; otherwise, the student will be free of his obligation to the Government of Iraq.

Human Capacity Development Program- Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Iraq

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Human Capacity Development (scholarship) Program (HDCP) started in 2010 with annual funding from the Kurdistan Parliament.  The program is administered by the KRG Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (KRG MoHe) in northern Iraq (Iraqi Kurdistan Region).  The KRG has awarded about 4,500 scholarships since 2010 for master's and doctorate degrees in all fields of study.  The Ministry of Higher Education awards scholarships to its employees, university faculty and students, and private sector applicants.  Students can study at approved universities in 28 countries.  All students sign a contract that obliges them to pay back the money spent on the scholarship package if the student does not complete the program or does not return to Iraq.

Students receive full scholarship funding for up to one year of intensive English language study, plus two years for a master’s program and five years for a doctorate program including tuition, books, travel, and any other related fees. Students will receive a monthly stipend of $1,950, plus 50% of that amount for the spouse. Health insurance is provided for the student and family. The student and accompanying family members will receive J1 or J2 visas.
 HCED will try to find an appropriate program for students in a partner university using a full-time placement team in Baghdad. HCED does all the admission work to help the students get accepted.
 Most students apply for Conditional Admission; students take the GRE or GMAT test while studying ESL at the U.S. University.
 U.S. universities submit monthly invoices to the HCED Billing Department for tuition and any other related fees. HCED makes payments directly through their bank.
 HCED keeps track of scholarship students while they are studying abroad through professional staff dedicated to monitoring students’ progress.
