Smart Classrooms

As part of NYU-Poly's Smart Classroom Project, technologies to facilitate teaching and learning have been installed in 39 NYU-Poly classrooms since July 2009 in Rogers Hall (RH) and Jacobs Academic Building (JAB).

The goal of the Smart Classroom Project is to enhance classrooms at NYU-Poly with new technologies to support educational initiatives. The upgraded classrooms enable teaching with technology and greater interactivity in the classroom. This project has been made possible by a Title III grant awarded to the Institute by the U.S. Department of Education.

Smart Classroom Types

Type A: Multipurpose Smart Classroom

  • Composite switcher
  • Tracking camera
  • Document camera (RH 418 only)
  • Sound system for media audio output
  • Compact cabinet podium
  • Wireless lavalier presenter microphone
  • Wireless handheld audience microphones (2)
  • eno PolyVision interactive whiteboard with short-throw projector

Type B: Specialized Smart Classroom (medium)

  • 1080p projector/Cosmo screen with LVC
  • Blu-ray player
  • 18.5” SMART Podium interactive pen display
  • HDMI and VGA input
  • Digital switcher

  • 7” Touchscreen USB control panel
  • *Rooms upgraded after January 2013 additionally include a Blue microphone

Type C: Specialized Smart Classroom (large)
