With a careful selection of high school courses to earn AP credit, some summer classes, and plenty of hard work, a student may earn both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Integrated Digital Media. The benefits of the combined BS/MS program are that students may begin their study of graduate courses while they are still undergraduates and it is possible to receive both degrees in five calendar years. See http://www.poly.edu/academics/BSMS for more information.
Each student must complete the full requirements of each degree, but how a particular student will do so depends on what AP credits he or she has earned, how many summer classes he or she can take, and the student’s ability to stay on track toward the goal. In order to participate in the program, a student must apply at the end of his or her sophomore year. Illustrated below are two different ways to complete a BS/MS degree in Integrated Digital Media:
One way to complete the BS/MS program is through AP credits and summer courses. This plan requires a student to take summer classes in order to finish the BS/MS in five years. Please note that the courses in the following matrix are not prescriptive, and each student will be choosing courses in accordance with his or her interests and in consultation with the IDM advisor.

Another way to complete the BS/MS is to take an extra course each semester. While most students in IDM take five courses (15-16 credits) per semester, a student may take six courses each semester and then begin the graduate work. Due to the extra workload, this option only work for the motivated, focused student. The following matrix describes one way of accomplishing the BS/MS in IDM, but as before, each student will be choosing courses in accordance with his or her interests and in consultation with the IDM advisor.
