With the vast amount of sensitive data now stored in the digital universe — everything from social security numbers to financial records and matters of national security — it’s critical that we secure and protect it from malicious interests. For vital computer networks and electronic infrastructures, cybersecurity experts stand as the last and most effective line of defense against such attacks.

Our Certificate in Cybersecurity program trains technical professionals to become such specialists. As a student at NYU-Poly, you’ll explore the latest technology in emerging areas of security, such as computer and network security, digital forensics, cryptography, and biometrics.

We’ve developed the courses for this program in our National Science Foundation-funded Information Systems and Internet Security (ISIS) laboratory. In addition to being the nerve center of our research, ISIS acts as a forum for the exchange of ideas between our students and others interested in cybersecurity.

After completing the certificate program, you’re able to immediately apply this knowledge to managing the risk of cyberattacks. But we also make it easy for you to continue your studies: all of our courses transfer over to the master’s programs in cybersecurity or computer science.

Admission Requirements

You must hold a bachelor’s degree in a related preparatory discipline from an institution acceptable to NYU-Poly.
