Medicine has progressed to such a state today that it’s not unusual to read an article about an athlete with prosthetic legs winning a race. We can also dream about growing replacements for damaged organs and know the reality is not too far off. Such miracles are possible because advancements in biomedical materials are steadily improving implants and other medical devices that help us live longer, healthier lives. You can contribute to the growing body of knowledge by joining our Certificate program in Biomedical Materials.

Designed for working professionals seeking training in a specific subtopic of biomedical engineering, the curriculum offers an array of 2 ½-hour lectures given once a week, giving students ample time to fulfill other commitments in their busy lives. Evening research opportunities also broaden the learning experience, with many of our graduates discovering the immediate applicability of their lessons to their everyday work in the biomedical field. By the program’s end, its specialized training renews students’ confidence in their abilities, moving them to the forefront of their professions.

If you choose to work toward the master’s degree in biomedical engineering at NYU-Poly, you are able, upon admission, to apply all courses taken toward this certificate to fulfill the degree program.

Admission Requirements

You may apply to the certificate program if you have 1 or more of the following:

  1. BS or a more advanced degree in any engineering discipline,
