NYU Cross-School Registration

Undergraduate Students

NYU-Poly undergraduate students who are in good academic standing and who have completed their first year at NYU-Poly may elect to register for up to two (2) classes at select schools/programs at NYU per semester.  Students may only enroll for courses at other schools of NYU that are not offered at NYU-Poly.

In order to register for class(es) at another school of NYU, students must complete the registration form no later than the last day of class of the fall semester for a spring course and no later than the end of the spring semester for a summer or fall course. Schools/programs available for cross-registration: the College of Arts and Science (any department), Gallatin School of Individualized Study (any course), Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development (music and performing arts courses), Stern School of Business (Open Access courses only), Tisch School of the Arts (Open Arts curriculum courses only) and Wagner School of Public service (undergraduate courses only).

Intersession (Winter and Summer terms) at NYU: NYU-Poly students may take classes at other schools of NYU during intersessions provided they receive permission from their home department and the Dean's office prior to the class. Full details as well as the required form can be found here.  Once they receive permission, Poly students will apply as visiting students for the winter or summer programs at NYU and will pay NYU tuition directly to NYU for all coursework.

Graduate Students

NYU-Poly graduate students may elect to register for up to three (3) classes (maximum of one (1) per semester) at select schools/programs at NYU. Students may only enroll for courses at other schools of NYU that are not offered at NYU-Poly. In order to register for class(es) at another school of NYU, students must complete the application form no later than the end of the fall semester for a spring course and no later than the end of the spring semester for a fall course.   • Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS)
  • Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences
  • Gallatin School
  • Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development
  • Tisch School of the Arts
  • Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service
  • Leonard N. Stern School of Business (only for PhD level students)
