Academic Standing Explanation:


Q:      How does a student get on Academic Probation?

(a)     If a student’s semester OR cumulative gpa falls under 2.0, they are on regular ACADEMIC PROBATION.

(b)     Or if a student is not making minimum academic progress in ONE category (either cumulative gpa or completed credits), according to the Minimum Progress charts in the University Catalog, they are on regular ACADEMIC PROBATION

Q:      How does a student get on Final Probation?

A:      If a student is not making minimum academic progress (according to the charts) in both cumulative gpa AND completed credits at the same time, they are put on FINAL PROBATION.

Q:      When is a student Academically Disqualified?

A:      If a student is NOT making minimum academic progress in both gpa AND credits at the same time for TWO CONSECUTIVE semesters, they are subject to ACADEMIC DISQUALIFICATION.
