A Message From the President
I joined an institution of great intellectual and historical force when I became the 10th president of Polytechnic in 2005. I also joined an institution that — like so many others — was struggling to find its place in the 21st century.
In three short years, we have defined that place: a world-class institute of technology devoted to invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship — what we call i2e. Our partnership with New York University has jump-started our realization of i2e in everything we do as Polytechnic Institute of NYU.
i2e is rooted in our belief that research universities have to expand to provide not just education, not just research, but invention, innovation, and entrepreneurship that has a direct impact on the economic growth, jobs, and prosperity of our cities.
This is a significant departure from the traditional university model, a departure that is characteristic of Polytechnic’s 150-plus-year ambition to break molds, solve tough problems, and change the world through innovation and the Power of PolyThinking.
I welcome you to explore our web site and visit our campus to learn why NYU-Poly is where you want to learn, teach, grow a start-up company, or search for solutions to everyday and long-term 21st century problems.
Very truly yours,
Jerry M. Hultin, President
