The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) is the unit of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools that accredits degree-granting colleges and universities in the Middle States region, which includes Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and several locations internationally.
Polytechnic Institute of New York University has been continuously accredited by MSCHE since 1930. To maintain accreditation we must undergo review by MSCHE every ten years. This is the decennial review and it provides a wonderful chance to showcase our strengths and commitment to excellence that make us a leading technological institution. At the same time, it gives us the opportunity to examine all dimensions of the Institute in depth and to engage in introspection concerning our programs, policies and procedures. Where we find ways to elevate still further the excellence of what we do, we will seize that improvement or growth potential and act upon it.
The review is a 2-1/2 year process that is intended to involve the entire NYU-Poly community. I invite you to review this web site and familiarize yourself with the MSCHE expectations Characteristics of Excellence and the study themes of the Steering Committee and five working Groups, staffed by our colleagues and students. The work of the Steering Committee and Working Groups is described in our Self-Study. Please familiarize yourself with this document and volunteer your services to one or more of the Working Groups.
Finally, you are encouraged to check this web site frequently for updates as we proceed through the review process.
