| The 1-2-1 Joint Degree Exchange Program with Polytechnic Institute of NYU is a new initiative in global education that aims to encourage academic and cultural exchange. Students attending a participating university will have the opportunity to enhance their educational experience. As part of this program, students who have been accepted by both Universities will study during their first year at their home university, their second and third years at Polytechnic, and their fourth and final year again at their home university. Upon successful completion of the program students will receive Bachelor of Science degrees from both Polytechnic Institute of NYU and the home university. By participating in the program students will be exposed to the educational experiences, academic knowledge bases and cultural opportunities of both universities and be prepared to enter the global workforce.
The Polytechnic educational experience is research intensive and individualized. Because Polytechnic is a small university (only about 3000 students) close working relationships and personalized attention exist between faculty and students. Students play an essential role in research conducted on campus by some of the industry’s leading innovators. As a technological university Polytechnic maintains close ties with industry and government research agencies. These collaborations insure that our education is contemporary, practical and focused on the issues that are most important in today’s technologically driven global economy.
